Cebu: Highlights of my Return

I was in Cebu last December of 2010 with my parents and my boyfriend. My boyfriend and I went to Bantayan Island while my parents went around and discover the tourists’ spots in the city.

Last week, I was able to visit Cebu again with my friends. From our Bohol trip, we headed to Cebu to spend the last two days of our 4-day vacation. It’s a trip within the city this time and I’m glad to share you the highlights of this trip.

Parklane Hotel – The hotel is located at Mandaue. We booked the Parklane Room. It’s a cozy room with two single beds. Check your door in the morning for the newpaper delivery. Their buffet breakfast starts at 6am and ends at 10am.

Contacts: You may check their website at www.parklanehotel.com.ph or call their Cebu office at (6332) 234 7000, Manila office (02) 812 9984.

i love Mooon Cafe's Blue Margarita

AA’s Grill and Mooon Café – Before attending the 5pm church service at Victory, we went to AA’s to have our late lunch. We ordered calamares, shrimp in spicy sauce and grilled bangus. We loved their shrimp in spicy sauce and their mixed fruit pitcher. It’s good to note that they serve your orders fast in AAs. At night, we went to Cebu Business Park where you’ll see call center buildings, food strips and night market. We stopped at Mooon Café where they serve Filipino and Mexican food. Yes it’s MOOON with 3 Os. This place serves as a dinner and chill out place for urban professionals. Their well-mixed frozen blue margarita is the best I’ve ever tasted. The interiors are amazing. The rich-colored Mediterranean inspired paintings on some parts of the ceilings and walls are appealing. The design of the ceiling is also unconventional. Their ceiling fans looks like those of electric fan propellers. Their crowd is mostly urban professionals. And before I forget, the place only opens at 7:00 PM. If you want to try Mooon food at daytime, you need to the new Robinsons Cybergate at Fuente Osmena Blvd.

indulge yourself with a massage at Banyan Tree Spa

Banyan Tree Spa – It’s always great to end your day with a relaxing spa. We’ve tried Banyan Tree Spa and I highly recommend you to try it too. There are 2 Banyan Tree Spa that can be found in the Fuente Osmena Circle The first one is located at the 2nd flr, Elegant Circle Inn and the other one near Shakeys and Casino. Banyan Tree offers cheap body massage, foot spa, foot reflex, head & back massage, body scrub and sauna. We got the 1 hour and 15 minutes body massage for only PHP 198.00. They also offer great deals for groups. A group of more than 4 pax can get one for free. Home Service can also be arranged. It’s open daily from 11am to 3am. For reservations, contact (6332) 255 1110 in Cebu.

the famous Plantation Bay Resort and Spa in Mactan

Plantation Bay Resort and Spa – It is a private place located in Lapu-Lapu city. We’ve spent our last three hours here. I’m not aware of their prices as we got the entrance for free but the place looks expensive. We’ve also haven’t checked the food prices but based from the reviews in trip advisor, you would need to cough up dollars to be able to eat these expensive foods. Well, this just only became a highlight because we were able to go to a posh place like this without spending any dime.
